We have all had flowers and neglected them only to find them dead, the stems slimy and the water cloudy, green and smelly “yuk!”
If the vase is thoroughly clean before you use it and the water is changed regularly then your flowers will last longer.
Why? Because bacteria builds up in the water. We wouldn’t like to stand with our feet in stagnant water and it wouldn’t do us much good either!

When the sad day comes and your flowers are past their best, dispose of them in your green bin or compost heap and make sure you give that vase a thorough clean using a drop of bleach to remove and bacteria and warm soapy water to remove any lime scale marks…..your vase will be ready for your next beautiful bouquet.

*Top Tip*
To remove stubborn lime scale marks off your vase, soak the vase over night filled with water and denture solution! It really does work and your vase will sparkle.
